Homemade Healthy Walnut Butter Recipe – a super simple way to make your own healthy walnut butter at home.

Yield:1/2 cup of walnut butter 1x
1.5 cups of walnuts
1 tbs of cacao powder
1 to 2 tbs of maple sugar or maple syrup/agave syrup for sweetness
1 tsp of cinnamon powder
Preheat oven to 300F.
Roast 1.5 cups of walnuts at 300F for 15 minutes (or until slightly browned and oily).
Transfer to food processor and process until a smooth butter forms – can take a few minutes depending on your food processor.
1.5 cups of walnuts make about 1/2 cup of walnut butter. For a full cup, double the amount of walnuts.
Walnut butter alone is quite bitter. This is due to walnuts naturally being quite bitter in taste. Walnut butter is *not* as sweet as almond or cashew butter. However, it works great when using it in smoothies, cookies, and other baked goods. You can add sweetener, cacao powder, or cinnamon powder if you’d like to flavor your walnut butter and mask the bitterness a bit.
